How the Arendoo platform works

Arendoo is a marketplace for holiday accommodation. Depending on how a property is listed, one booking is fulfilled by Arendoo directly; another is fulfilled by an independent booking engine we forward you to. Both are legitimate. This page explains what changes for the guest and for the host in each scenario.

Scenario 1 — Arendoo-hosted properties

These are properties that a host has listed on Arendoo directly, using their own Arendoo host account. Typical inventory here is vacation homes, villas and apartments that the owner rents out on a nightly basis. You will recognise them because:

• The Book button leads you through checkout on arendoo.com itself — you never leave the site.
• Payment is processed by Arendoo's licensed payment service provider.
• The guest's card is charged into the host's Arendoo e-wallet. The host receives the funds by requesting a payout to their own bank account.

For the guest. You get a confirmation from [email protected], a booking record inside your Arendoo client profile, and a support channel through [email protected]. Cancellations and refunds follow the cancellation policy shown on the listing page and are handled by Arendoo through its payment provider.

For the host. If you own a vacation home, villa or apartment, you can sign up as an Arendoo host yourself — the whole onboarding is self-serve through the host registration form. You list the property, set your prices and availability, and manage every booking from your Arendoo host dashboard. Arendoo collects a service fee on paid bookings; the fee is disclosed before confirmation.

Scenario 2 — Partner properties (metasearch)

These are hotels and larger properties that have not been listed on Arendoo directly. Instead they are managed on a connected hospitality platform — a property-management system or independent booking engine — and Arendoo surfaces them so a guest can compare more inventory in one place. You will recognise them because:

• The Book direct button opens the hotel's own booking engine in a new tab. This may be a URL under the partner platform's domain or the hotel's own domain.
• Checkout, payment and confirmation all happen on the partner booking engine — not on arendoo.com.
• The guest's contract is directly with the hotel; Arendoo is only the referring party.

For the guest. You will receive the booking confirmation from the hotel (not from Arendoo). Cancellations, refunds, invoices and support for that reservation go through the hotel or its booking platform. Prices and availability shown on Arendoo are read live from the partner engine, so the number you see on the Arendoo card and the number you see on the checkout page should match.

For the hotel. There is no self-serve Arendoo account for this route — it is meant for properties that already run on a hospitality platform we integrate with. If your property is already live on such a platform, get in touch with your platform provider and ask them to enable Arendoo distribution. If you don't yet have a booking platform and want to appear on Arendoo through metasearch, write to [email protected] — we can introduce you to platform partners we work with (for example Quendoo) and get you set up.

Every hand-off from arendoo.com is tagged (bc_code=arn on the outbound URL) so both sides can measure the traffic and settle a referral fee under a separate written agreement.

How to tell which scenario you are in

You don't need to check URLs. Every listing card on Arendoo carries a clear indicator of how the booking will be fulfilled:

• Scenario 1 listings are labelled as booked through Arendoo — the whole flow, from availability check to payment, stays on arendoo.com.
• Scenario 2 listings are labelled as Hotel Direct — clicking the CTA opens the hotel's own booking engine so you can complete the reservation directly with the property.

The confirmation email you receive after payment will also make it obvious who charged your card and who owns the booking record — Arendoo for Scenario 1, the hotel for Scenario 2.

Payments, refunds and dispute resolution

For Scenario 1 bookings, payments run through Arendoo's licensed payment service provider under Arendoo's agreement with that provider. Refund windows follow the cancellation policy attached to the specific listing. Chargebacks are handled between the guest's bank, the payment provider, and Arendoo.

For Scenario 2 bookings, the payment relationship is between the guest and the hotel (via whichever payment provider the hotel's booking engine uses). Arendoo does not hold guest funds for these bookings and cannot issue refunds on behalf of the hotel.

Data we send to partner engines

When you click through to a Scenario 2 partner engine, Arendoo passes only the search context that you already provided on this site — check-in and check-out dates, number of adults and children, and a channel tag (bc_code=arn) that lets both sides attribute the visit to the Arendoo channel. No personal, payment or account information is forwarded until you enter it directly on the partner engine's checkout page.
